OROAFRICA Design (Pty) Ltd is a highly skilled, technology-driven jewellery design and product development business. Our main focus is on our customer - finding the best solutions for his or her needs.

Martin Ammann, who leads OROAFRICA Design, is an experienced Swiss-trained goldsmith (qualified at the School of Manufaturing Arts in Zurich) and an award winning designer. The diversity of projects we deal with and have successfully delivered upon is unmatched. Our ability to do so makes OROAFRICA Design the only facility of its kind in South Africa.

Our expertise lies in concept design, 3D CAD/CAM and inhouse rapid prototyping, as well as model making and sampling, laser welding, engraving and cutting. These form the basis of our vast service offering and our many successes.

High profile projects: The People’s Mace (2004)

Commissioned to manufacture the “People’s Mace” for the National Assembly. Standing tall at 1.2m, the Mace is South Africa’s most prestigious jewel. Over 20 different artisans and professionals took part in its creation. This new Mace symbolises and celebrates the diverse cultures of our beloved country since our democracy in 1994.

Art and Culture (2010 and 2013)

Solid Gold Signature Sculpture commisioned for manufacture by the Goodman Gallery, on behalf of one of South Africa’s most renowned artists.

Speaker Medallion created on behalf of AngloGold Ashanti for the Design Indaba in 2013.

Jewellery Design and Manufacture (2002 to present)
